Hello!
My name is Jill Strickland, and I grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where my love for the ocean began. Some of my best memories were spent at the beach, and I’ve always been drawn to coastal life and beautiful water.

Over the years, I’ve traveled throughout the Florida Keys and the Caribbean, where I fell in love with the bright tropical colors and beautiful coral reefs. Over 30 years ago, while living in the Florida Keys, I met my husband, Bill, and the Keys have always held a special place in our hearts.

We have two wonderful children, Gage and Peyton, who we are incredibly proud of. Gage graduated from the College of Coastal Georgia and earned his Florida real estate license. Peyton graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems and has helped bring creativity and fresh ideas to our family business.

My love for the coral reefs of the Keys and Caribbean is what inspired the coral theme in my glass art. I love creating handcrafted pieces that reflect the ocean, bright coastal colors, and the natural beauty of life by the water.

A couple of years ago, Bill and I made our way back down to beautiful Key Largo, Florida, where we now get to enjoy life in the Keys while continuing to grow Coastal Creations GA.

I discovered my passion for fusing glass after a good friend I met while living in Florida introduced me to the art. What started as curiosity quickly turned into something I truly loved.

Fusing glass is a detailed and hands-on process. I work with sheets of glass that are carefully hand-cut and arranged into unique patterns before being placed into a kiln heated to over 1400 degrees. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind.

What began as a hobby in February 2020 quickly grew into something much bigger. During the pandemic, while working as a pre-k paraprofessional, I suddenly found myself with extra time when life slowed down. I used that time to focus on learning, creating, and expanding my coral-inspired glass pieces.

Before long, that hobby turned into a small online business that has continued to grow. I’m incredibly grateful for how far it has come.

And of course, none of this would be possible without my daughter, Peyton, who designed my website and has helped bring fresh ideas, creativity, and marketing support to Coastal Creations GA.
